Job description

36 - 40 hours | Permanent contract | SPECTO Aerospace | Hoogerheide (Woensdrecht airbase)

"Bring MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) to Manufacturer’s Standard" – that's our ambition. Your work makes the difference.

Your impact at SPECTO

Your work directly contributes to safety, sustainability, and airworthiness of aircraft and helicopters worldwide. At SPECTO Aerospace, you work at the heart of aviation technology, where craftsmanship and innovation come together. As a QHSE Officer, you ensure that health and safety are central and that our practices and processes directly contribute to becoming a better company.

People are central: you are not a paper tiger who acts based on rules, but a practical thinker with persuasiveness. You know how to involve colleagues in change processes and how to naturally grow quality awareness, without letting go of the frameworks.

You work at our location in Hoogerheide (Woensdrecht airbase) and regularly visit our location at Lelystad Airport.

About SPECTO Aerospace

We specialize in repairing and processing composite and sheet metal parts for aircraft and helicopters. At our facilities at Amsterdam Lelystad Airport and Woensdrecht airbase, we carry out certified work for renowned OEMs, operators, and maintenance companies worldwide. We are an EASA/CAA-UK/FAA/MAA Part-145 and AS9110 certified aviation technical company, and our professionals are dedicated to innovation, quality, and reliability on a daily basis.

What will you do?

In this role, you'll be a key member of our QHSE team. You'll work closely with the Safety & Compliance Manager and form a strong team with the Operations and Maintenance Managers in Woensdrecht and Lelystad. You'll be responsible for establishing, improving, and implementing our quality, safety, health, environment, and sustainability processes, all with our core values at the forefront. By providing QHSE-related training (which you'll help develop), you'll raise awareness and expand your knowledge. This position focuses on non-aviation-related legislation. Therefore, you don't need direct knowledge of aviation maintenance legislation, but you must be willing to delve deeper and potentially take training courses to support the QHSE department in this area in the future.

Specifically:

  • You'll manage and develop our QHSE management system and ensure compliance with standards such as ARBO, ABDO, and PGS15

  • You monitor changes in the aforementioned regulations and, together with the Safety & Compliance Manager, advise management on these

  • You play a central role in integrating and harmonizing systems and standards between our two locations and you conduct internal audits, coordinate external audits, and support process owners with the systematic follow-up of findings

  • You make policy tangible: you write procedures that are understood and supported by the people on the work floor

  • You observe, identify, and initiate improvements, whether they concern safety, environmentally conscious behavior, or work processes

  • You develop, maintain, and organize QHSE-related training courses, delivering them yourself or organizing them externally in consultation

  • You act as a source of information, coach, and connector: colleagues know where to find you and want to collaborate with you

In short: you are the driving force behind a culture in which safety and quality are not mere paper principles, but are reflected in daily behavior.

What do we offer you?

  • A competitive salary between € 4,400 and € 5,600 gross per month for a full-time position (depending on experience)

  • 8% holiday pay, a good pension according to the Metalektro collective labor agreement, 44 days off for a full-time position, a full travel allowance of € 0.23 per kilometer, and flexible working hours are negotiable

  • A key role with impact within an ambitious organization that truly focuses on quality, safety, and sustainability

  • An open and familial team that takes pride in its work, where your expertise is valued, and you have the space to make a difference

  • Extensive training and development opportunities, both professionally and personally

  • A dynamic work environment, based in Hoogerheide (Woensdrecht) with regular collaboration with our location in Lelystad

Job requirements

Why choose SPECTO Aerospace?

Join SPECTO and be part of a Team where people come first, along with reliability, craftsmanship, ingenuity, and ownership! Help us make a difference in aviation, every day.

What do you bring?

  • HBO (Higher Professional Education) work and thinking level – preferably in Safety Science, Integrated Safety, Technology, or similar

  • Experience in a maintenance or production environment, preferably within aviation or another regulated technical sector

  • Knowledge of or experience with QHSE standards, such as ARBO, ABDO, PGS15, and experience conducting audits and improving processes
