At SPECTO Aerospace, a certified aerospace technical company located at Lelystad-Airport and at Woensdrecht Air Force Base, we repair high-quality composite parts for the international aviation and defense industry. The Case Study
SPECTO is basically a craft company in a high-tech environment (www.spectoaerospace.com). Our goal is to digitize extensively. Not because it is more efficient but also because it is going to help us "change the game". In the repair process of composite aircraft parts, specialists and engineers already record a multitude of detailed data as standard and we want to process this information in a 3D environment in order to be able to communicate with stakeholders in images (Visualization), to unlock and store information during the process (Digital Twinning) and to be able to analyze all this data in order to design the next generation of aircraft parts (Data Analytics). For this we want to start using our scale 1:1 3D models that we make of aircraft parts ourselves with our own advanced scanning equipment
The Assignment
We have developed a Proof of Concept application in which we are able to draw shapes on a 3D model and link them to underlying data. However, this application is not yet finished: we want to be able to take 3D color and measurement data in an accessible way from reality (physical environment) and capture/transfer it as an information layer on the 3D model in the virtual environment. For this assignment it is a requirement that you have a strong affinity or experience with working with 3D techniques. Think for example of photogrammetry techniques, Augmented Reality or UV-mapping.

Job requirements
What do we expect of you as an intern?
You are an enthusiastic team player who enjoys collaborating with us at Lelystad Airport to design, research, build and test new solutions. You are a creative thinker and have a passion for new technology and tools.
Further requirements:
- You are studying in the direction of Hbo ICT Software Engineering, Creative Media and Gaming Technologies or similar (3rd or 4th year)
- You have knowledge of Unity, C# and/or Java.
- Working with 3D models, photogrammetry and/or UV-mapping is a plus
- You are naturally able to work independently and in a structured manner
